Supervision and Coaching are not similar. Compared to supervision, mentoring is a two-way power free, equally advantageous learning situation wherein mentors share knowledge, provide advice, and demonstrate how to use a low-pressure approach. Mentors act as sources of knowledge and information, and are keen about working with the client in adapting to the changes and enrolling support for the work unit.

Over the years, supervision has been adjudged a vital element for success in various professional groups. However, this does not officially state the suitability to every experienced developer who plans to utilize the coaching model for learning and changing within an organization. These developers usually prefer to use the mentoring model as a way of practice support.

As per the traditional supervision procedure, the supervisor monitors actions and suggests ways of making operations workable and much easier.
