Call Accounting buffer; a low cost solution

Reliably collecting Call Data Records (CDR) from the a PBX for temporary storage and forwarding to a Call Accounting System, telephone management and telemanagement software is a standard application within the industry.

What is a call accounting buffer?
Whenever a telephone call is completed through a PBX a call record is produced detailing the date, time, duration and destination telephone number of the call. A Call Accounting System required this information to produce usage reports for management purposes.

A call accounting system may be be remote from the PBX, in another office or even on the internet as a hosted service. Placing a buffer close to the PBX will ensure your call records are collected and then transported reliably to the host system.

The buffer, called a DCD03 is an embedded device designed to collect Call Records from a PBX and transmit the data securely and reliably via the local area network or the Internet to a call accounting Host Application. DCD03 collects call records via an IP network connection, a Serial Interface, or can query a file residing inside the PBX as is required by Cisco Call Manager, Rockwell, Asterisk etc.

Valuable call record data is safely stored in non volatile memory and transmitted to a Host Application via a range of secure guaranteed delivery protocols (including SMTP mail).

Data Storage. DCD call accounting buffer has a high storage capacity, as standard 1 million call records can be stored in non volatile memory, this can be increase to a huge 10 million by adding additional low cost storage capacity.

Self Healing The data is self healing, occasional interruptions in local network or www connectivity or delays in data transmission are seamlessly managed by sophisticated communication protocols.

Security Data is stored and transmitted in encrypted format leaving little opportunity for interception. A dedicated Host Application is required to decrypt data.

The DCD call accounting buffer device is compact weighing only 500 grams and dimensions of 115 x 115 x 35 millimeters.
