Changing Your Restaurant From Lunch To Dinner

By: Patricia Farnham

As the owner of a restaurant you want to offer customers all you can. You want them to enjoy the food as well as the atmosphere. It is very possible to transform the atmosphere of your restaurant for different meals. You will find they really appreciate it and it can help them decide to come in to eat dinner with you instead of only lunch. This is because many people expect more for a dinner meal than they do for their lunch.

You may be thinking that this is a concept you agree with, but you don't need any more overhead expenses to deal with. The good news is that most of these details you can implement don't require much of an investment at all. The price is minimal as it the time involved in the transformation process.

What type of accessories do you offer on the table right now? You may not have anything at all or you may have fake flowers in a tiny vase. That may be fine for the lunch crowd but you want to offer something nicer for your dinner guests. Beautiful candles on the table will create a nice look. You may want them to be for display only but you can choose to light them as well.

You can easily change the entire look of your restaurant with the lighting. You will want it to be brighter for lunch than you do for dinner. You can open the curtains and use the lights. For dinner you can close the curtains and dim the lights. Ask an electrician to let you know what it will cost to change from a lighting system that is either on or off to one that you can control the brightness of.

Don't forget how a change in lighting can affect the atmosphere as well. You will want softer lighting for dinner than for lunch. This may require a small investment but most electricians can give you a good price. Keep in mind you will save money each month on your electric bill too. Put some effort into offering different music to enjoy at night as well.

Even the way in which your guests are seated can affect the atmosphere. For example you may have open seating during the lunch hour. People choose where they want to sit and do so. For dinner though you may ask that they wait to be seated. A hostess can great them and take them to their location. Make sure that the guests are happy with where they are placed though. They should still have a choice in the matter.

You can easily implement these tips as well as others that may be a good move for your specific type of restaurant. If you are careful in your planning stages you will find this transformation doesn't have to be expensive. You should view it as an investment in the longevity of your restaurant. You want this to be something that works quite well for you and that staff can accomplish in a short span of time.

Making these changes for your restaurant from afternoon to night can be very simple too. You will need to have your staff allocate some time to make physical changes to it. You will also need to invest in some supplies to accomplish this. Other types of changes though aren't going to cost you anything at all. Yet they will certainly be very effective and get more customers coming in for both lunch and dinner.
