Coffee Shop Franchises

By: John Pawlett

What was I thinking? I really need to get my head on straight when it comes to business. First it was the whole taco plate concept, and now it's the coffee shop franchises. I could have started these first. I had the ideas long ago.

Oh well, that just goes to show you that you have to act on things or they begin without you. Some other Joe Shmoe sitting in his living room will beat you to the punch. Just think, you may have a magnificent concept as we speak, just floating around in your head. Hey, take it from me, don't just sit there on your keyster. Get up and get started today. There is no time like the present.

Ahh, Starbuck's Coffee, you either love them or you hate them. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. This is the largest of the coffee shop franchises, and the only ones who hate them are the competitors. This is not true. My father has nothing to do with the coffee shop industry, and yet he hates Starbuck's. It has nothing to do with their less than high-end blend of java beans. It has to do with the fact that they do not support our troops. They want nothing to do with our soldiers because they do not support the war. Well, you know what they say, to each his own.

However, you would think that this would make a serious dent in their coffee sales. Whether they're the largest of the coffee shop franchises or not. Typically Middle America has a fit when companies and businesses flat-out fail to support our nation's battles. It's kind of like saying, 'Sure I want to live here and enjoy the freedom America provides, but I don't believe in fighting for that freedom.' Wow, this is beyond naive.

Personally I believe in having loads of cash, but I don't really want to have anything to do with the work aspect. Oh wait, then I would have nothing. Go figure! The point lies in the integrity. Being the largest of the coffee shop franchises certainly doesn't make you the best, nor does it make you worth anyone's time or money.

So, have you come up with a slew of coffee shop franchises that will put the almighty Starbuck's out of business? Hey, let me know if you do. I want to make a contribution. There's no doubt I love my morning java just as much as the next guy, but I would prefer to purchase it from a respectable company.

  • How To Become An Entreprenuer By: Richard McMunn - To be an entrepreneur you need to see things differently than other people. Entrepreneurs look for opportunities wherever they go and have the ability to identify a 'gap' in the market. A gap in the market is an opening or opportunity that has yet to be filled. That gap or opportunity is usually created by a need for that product or service by the paying customer. It is the entrepreneur's ability to identify that niche that makes him/her unique. It is possible for everyone to become an entrepreneur. So many people have great ideas yet so few fail to realise their full potential.
