Does or Exercise Routine Work Or Is It Keeping You From Your Goal?

There comes a time in every person's life when being in shape is desirable. When this occurs, many people decide to being participating in a serious exercise program. In the beginning, the program appears to work very well. Slowly, but surely, pounds begin to fly off the scale. Then, the weight loss reaches a plateau and it seems the no more pounds can be shed.

But why is this? Doesn't exercise always lead to weight loss and lean muscle gain? Yes, exercise will do this when it is performed properly. However, many will make a common error that undermines their ability to drop weight. Namely, they will not include any variety to their workout program. As a result, the body starts to lose the response it previously had when the exercise program started.

Again, any repetitive workout routine that you do will become extremely easy for your body. For example, if you do 20 pushups everyday for a month, you will begin to see a difference at the beginning, but as your body builds muscle and gets stronger, those 20 pushups will no longer have the same affect. This will cause your body to reach a plateau such that the 20 pushups will no longer do anything for you.

Of course you will continue to burn calories, but your results will not be noticeable. This problem can be exemplified through any kind of repetitive work out, be it the same crunches, bicep curls, pushups, or squats. Simply stated, too much of the same workout will keep you from reaching your goal. So change up your routine

A huge problem that most people have is that they depend on exercise alone as a way to get in shape and lose weight. This plan can work, but in order to see real results, you will have to burn more calories everyday than you consume, which most people simply cannot do. A good diet will help you to do this though. If you cut out items that are high in fat, sugars, and calories you will see greater results because it puts the body in a better position to burn up what you have consumed in a day.

This is why it is recommended that you shake up your diet and exercise routine. Every so many weeks, you should try something new and different and change up your work out strategy. You should also be increasing your intensity levels every week so that your work out is more productive. A good diet and meal plan will help you as well.
