Earrings for men might be few. However, at this day and age men wearing earrings have become a common fashion trend. In the early years, earrings are seen in the engraved images of male soldiers during the Persian Empire and those men living in India.

However, earrings for men become popular when ear piercing was introduced and began to make its way into the male world. These mostly come with an amateur piercing with the use of safety pins. This was particularly admired in communities of punks and rockers. It began to proliferate in 1980’s, as it set the trend for male music performers who considered ear piercing an art which also has helped establish a vogue for men and has later on influenced even athletes and show performers.

At present, a lot of men wear earrings in both ears and often times with more than one earring in each ear. For that reason, earrings have become norm in the men’s fashion world. Some of the most common type of earrings found to be men’s well liked styles is the Stud and Hoop earrings.

The stud earring is a type of earrings that appears to be hanging on the ear or the earlobe without a noticeable point of connection. Studs are customarily assembled on the end of a post that goes through directly through the ear. One of the types of stud earring is the diamond studs which is becoming more and more popular among music performers and in the black community. This can be worn in both casual and formal attire.

Next are the Hoop earrings, thesw are another type of men’s earrings that are circular or semi-circular in design and are comparable to a ring. These type of earrings are typically made from metal tubing with a thin wire attachment piercing the ear. There is also one type of hoop earring designs wherein it does not complete the circle, but can still be able to go through the ear in a post with the use of the similar attachment in the stud earrings.

Men working in the entertainment industry and other creative fields enjoy the freedom of wearing any types of accessories they choose however, there are also men working as professionals like businessmen or managers that are not encouraged to wear this type of jewelries.

There is no particular rule in wearing earrings when it comes to men’s age. It is stated that younger men are the ones more suitable for earring. However, as the modern age continues to rule, older men wearing earrings seemed to be an ordinary sight to a lot of people.

To find the best earring that will suit your style, all you have to do is match it with the kind of outfit you are going to wear. Remember to always stick with what is simple coupled with discreet and few accessories. Earrings for men should be a form of self expression. Be very keen with the details and decide what you like and go with it.
