By: Vanessa Vidal

The lawyer resume is a self-promotion tool, an important marketing tool, you have to get noticed by your prospective employer. Its format is just like any other ordinary type and still conforms to the general format. It must be easy to read and make it work surely to your advantage. Make it as interesting as possible to win an interview. It is your passport to get a job interview!

The lawyer resume must show how qualified you are to perform the tasks in the near future for the desired job you are currently applying for. It tells nothing but only about YOU! It tells what your strengths are and the kind of work experience you have. It states how well you have accomplished your tasks in your previous employments.

It is not just about past jobs! It is about YOU, and how you performed and what you accomplished in those past jobs, particularly those accomplishments that are most relevant to the work you want to do next. Your lawyer resume tells how well you can do the job in the near future. It should manifest that you can be an asset to the company because of your special skills and abilities that you have aside from your working experience.

Be consistent all the way with your font style whatever that style is. Your lawyer resume does not have to be long. It must contain your personal information, educational background and working experience. It must be, as much as possible, contained in one page and written on a clean sheet of white bond paper to give it an impressive look.

Consider this paper as YOU and that it is your first encounter with the prospective employer. First impressions last so make your lawyer resume neat and properly structured. You will be remembered that way too, neat and organized. Leave that good impression through your lawyer resume.
