Places To Shop In Sacramento After Your Business Trip

By: Kris Koonar

Sacramento is a vibrant city for living, working and having fun. New fine dining restaurants are constantly springing up in every part of the city along with high-rise luxurious apartments, designer boutiques and numerous places for shopping. Besides the dining and accommodation, this city offers a plethora of shops and designer stores that flaunt the availability of almost every high-end item you can think of. If you have come to Sacramento on a vacation, then you surely have lots of time to explore the city. However, if you are here on a business trip then there are few stores where you can pay a visit when you get time off from your busy schedule.

Evangelines:

This is a popular store in Old Sacramento where every square inch is packed with gag gifts, crazy greeting cards, novelties, costumes and happy shoppers. The second floor of this store has Halloween costumes.

Beat(The):

If you want to purchase musical records then this audio emporium is for you. You can find records of various bands of the 1930s, in the blues and jazz section. Hundreds of tapes of all the music genres can also be found here. There is an espresso 'listening bar' that offers coffee and sodas.

Garden of enchantment:

This is the apt place if you want to buy some token gifts for your near and dear ones. This shop has old historic Sacramento surroundings, but consists of a wide selection of new age souvenirs. You can buy aromatherapy products, wind chimes, candles, tarot jewelry, incense and crystals from here. Buy Indian bedspreads and tapestries with Celtic patterns and pewter statuettes for your bedroom from here.

Westfield Downtown Plaza:

This is an open-air mall that is paradise for any shopper. The rotunda and plaza are decorated with trees and fountains and there are stores like The Disney Store, Macy's Nine West, Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works and Warner Brother Audio Store that sell dedicated wares. The second floor of this mall has a food court, movie theater of United Artists and the River City Brewing Company outlet.

Beers Book Center:

If you want to purchase some books, then this is the place to be. There are a variety of sections that offer new as well as old, second-hand books on history, films, cooking, diet, gardening, vegetables, natural history, sexuality and psychology. The collection of National Geographic magazines is large and you can even find issues that are a century old! The fiction section is also good and features titles that are not available in the mainstream collections. You can sit on the comfortable couches and read books here.

Shoefly:

This place is the best place for buying designer shoes. The store has a fashionable and upscale selection of shoe brands like Diesel, BCBG and Kenneth Cole. You can sit and relax on the lounge sofas or chairs and slip on designer shoes. If you are offered a glass of wine while shopping, do not be surprised.

Arden fair mall:

This is a bright and airy two-story assembly of 165 stores and it still remains the flagship of the Sacramento malls.
