Delhi is the second-largest metropolis in India a population of 13 million. Located in Northern India on the banks of the River Yamuna. A blend of historic past and vibrant present, Delhi the capital city of India.

Public transport in Delhi is provided by buses, a rapid transit system, taxis, an auto rickshaws, taxis and suburban railways

Like the rest of India, cricket is a popular sport in the city. There are several cricket grounds across Delhi. The Delhi cricket team represents Delhi in the Ranji Trophy, a domestic first class cricket championship played between different city and states of India

Shopping is always on top of the itinerary chart for any tourist visiting Delhi. There are whole shebang of items of tourist choice, such as carpets, precious stones, jewellery, carpets, handicrafts, silks and silver ware all synonymous with India. Connaught Place, Karol Bagh and Chandni Chowk are the principle shopping areas. Baba Kharak Singh Marg, near Parliament Street is dotted with multiple emporiums, offering the famous handicraft artefacts of different states of India. under one roof at government controlled prices.

Site to visit when in Delhi are the India Gate and the Taj Mahal in Agra.

The India Gate is a solemn monument which was built in memory of the 90,000 Indian soldiers who died in World War I. It was built in 1931, designed by Lutyens, and was originally called the All India War Memorial. The names of the soldiers are inscribed on the walls of the arc of the gate. Later in 1971, an eternal flame was lit here in memory of the unknown soldiers who died in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. India Gate stands at the end of Rajpath. At night, the Gate is brightly lit and the fountains near the Gate are lit with coloured lights.

The Taj Mahal, is one of the most fabulous monuments in the world. Visit all year round by tourists, the Taj Mahal is 200 km from Delhi. It was built by the fifth Mughal emperor Shahjahan, in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz. The monument is a perfect piece of architecture. It took 22 years, 41 million rupees, 50 kilos of gold and around 20,000 workers to complete this marvel of marble.

Situated by the river Yamuna, the Taj Mahal sits on a high red sandstone terrace, topped by marble terrace. It is flanked by four minarets. The entire mausoleum is decorated with inlaid design of flowers and calligraphy with semi precious stones like jasper and agate.
