The Other Side Of Vending Machines

By: Robert Farnham.

Vending machine owners and customers are dependent upon each other in many ways. In order to ensure that everyone gets the most benefit from this relationship though the needs of the customer have to be taken into consideration. Too many customers simply assume that a vending machine owner will know what those are though.

As a customer you have the voice to make changes so speak up. It doesn't take much to contact the owner of the vending machine and tell them what is on your mind. Chances are they will do all they can to help resolve the situation for you. The owner of such a business needs to include contact information on each vending machine.

Keeping customers happy is the key to a successful vending machine business. This means you have to place machines where they will be happy to find them. You also need to keep them stocked with a good variety of items that can appeal to a wide audience. Not everyone is looking for soda or a sugary snack. Offer some healthy options as well for those paying attention to what they consume.

The experience should be a very small part of the day for most customers. Not too many people think about it after it is done with. They do decide to go back another time though if it was a good experience. Getting ripped off though can be annoying and leave you with a bad taste in your mouth each time you walk by that particular vending machine. Most customers won't make it a big deal if it happens once but more than that and they are done.

Keep every one of your vending machines well stocked. Even if it is working great it can be a disappointment to want water but all that is left is soda. It is important to realize that your vending machine business isn't going to allow you to stock items during the busy part of the day. You will likely have to do it early in the morning, late in the evening, or even on the weekends. If you can't commit to that then don't get involved in this type of business.

Customers really want their needs to be met without asking so an owner of this type of business has to be ready for them. It should be a given that they want fresh snacks and cold drinks for the machines. They should also be able to get what they pay for without any problems. Don't allow problems to come up that leave your customers disappointed with the experience.

Customers love the convenience that vending machines offer them. A quick drink or a snack during the day is very important to be able to focus on the rest of the tasks that have to be done. This is a process most customers take for granted though until it doesn't go according to plan. They don't want to have to walk away empty handed when they anticipated making a purchase.

Walking away with the small amount of money they lost isn't the issue at all. It is the fact that their need is still unmet. A good vending machine business owner will always step up to the plate and do all they can to keep customers happy. Anticipate problems and you can solve them before they cost you money.
