By: Smile You

Everybody wants to have white teeth since it signifies cleanliness and health. Having healthy teeth means you are free from cavity and tooth decay. Most people would visit the dentist often in order to have a teeth bleach. This process is one effective way to make the teeth shiny and white. Tooth whitening through bleaching allows you to acquire white teeth easily. It also saves you the time and effort needed in getting that shiny glow on your teeth.

Drinking too much wine and coffee is the main reason on why people have yellowish teeth. Coffee and wine have substances that contribute to teeth staining. Brushing your teeth three times a day is not enough in making the teeth white. Some toothpaste products even lack the chemical compounds that can help contribute to tooth bleaching. Relying too much on artificial teeth whiteners may not be always safe. Some of these dental products contain harmful compounds that can contribute to irritating the gum as well as other parts of the teeth.

Here are simple tips on how to obtain white teeth without having to undergo artificial tooth whitening process:

1. Avoid smoking – Cigarette contains many harmful chemicals that are not only harmful to the body but to the teeth as well. Nicotine is the main ingredient in cigarettes. This chemical is the primary contributor to plaque that results to cavities and unhealthy teeth.

2. Brush and floss your teeth after every meal - Tooth whitening starts at the basic steps of brushing the teeth and flossing it at least three times a day. Choose toothpaste that is high in calcium. Calcium is responsible in making teeth stronger. There are several toothpaste brands available in the market with ingredients for teeth whitening. Brushing the teeth more often also helps make the teeth whiter and healthy at the same time.

Flossing on the other hand is one way to remove food remains in parts where brushing cannot reach such as in between the teeth. Flossing the teeth before brushing is one way to make them clean and white.

3. Avoid using toothpaste that has fluoride ingredients – Fluoride used in some toothpaste products is found to contribute largely in staining the teeth. Many countries all over the world have banned the use of fluoride since it causes diseases related to the teeth health.

4. Avoid drinking too much coffee or tea – This tip may be hard for some people especially to those who drink a lot of coffee and tea every day. Coffee and tea can contribute a lot to teeth staining, which can disregard the results of tooth whitening treatments.

5. Eat fruits that have excellent tooth whitening agents – Fruits such as strawberries are good in whitening the teeth. Chew strawberries well for at least five minutes every day to have white teeth. Orange peels can also be used to whiten the teeth. This can be done by rubbing the peel right on the surface of your teeth.
