Truck Cargo Bars

By: Camille Howe

One of the most important aspects of the manufacturing process that is overlooked by many business owners is distribution. It is at this stage that the customer experience of dealing with a particular business is most clearly defined, and performance issues with distribution and delivery can cause huge long term trust problems. By using simple cargo bars however, this particular problem can be reduced at a comparatively low cost.

From a customer’s point of view, there are few things worse than receiving damaged goods from your supplier, and one of the principal causes of this happening is careless packaging in the truck that allows items to be thrown around in transit. This problem most often occurs when objects must be stacked on top of one another, but are not palletized for security. The large open space in the back of a truck leaves plenty of room for objects to fall out of place and get bashed against each other, however there is a simple solution to this problem, and this is to install truck cargo bars throughout the loading area of the vehicle in order to hold items securely in place.

Truck cargo bars are designed to fit across the width of a truck’s cargo area in order to prevent large objects from being able to move around. They bars are straightforward to install and have little impact on the loading time for a standard load.

There are a wide range of different cargo bars designed to fulfill a number of requirements, and depending on the cargo you want to protect in transit, there is certain to be a set of bars that are precisely what you need. In addition to this, the bars are all made to the highest standards and use high quality steel throughout their construction.

The most basic cargo bars are a single adjustable spar of 1 ½ inch steel with a 4 inch square plate on either end to brace it against the inside of the truck. The bars ratchet into position and then lock firmly into place, and thanks to the strength that comes from their 14 gauge steel construction, they will not bend out of shape or come loose.

If you would rather have even more security when loading a particularly expensive cargo, the E-Track system is perfect for your needs. This system features a rack that is fitted permanently onto the inside of the truck. Instead of relying on the tension in the bar holding it in place, with the E-Track system, your cargo bars lock firmly into the walls of the truck so they are unable to move.

Under circumstances where you need to be 100% certain that the cargo will not shift around the back of the truck during transit, the perfect solution is to use a set of cargo loops. These are constructed to the same high quality as the regular bars, but feature additional bars both above and below the main load bearing spar to prevent any movement while also reducing the amount of pressure that is placed against the load during movement.
