Vehicle Tracking Devices And Its Parts

It's nice to know that there are vehicle tracking systems that help protect and locate vehicles. For many car owners, this is a very important and useful device. Even so, they'll admit that they don't know much about these mechanisms. Well, one interesting fact about vehicle tracking systems is they just have two types of devices that help them work. These are the remote receiver and the transmitter. Although the different communication protocols use various kinds of hardware components, the only thing that distinguishes them are their configurations. Their functions and equipments remain the same.

The Transmitter:

The main purpose of this electronic device is to send off the signal that will be intercepted by the receiver. The signal can be in different forms, depending on the type of configuration the transmitter has. Electromagnetic waves are used for cellular-based GPS. Microwaves work for GS systems that use satellite tracking. For radio-frequency transmitters, radio waves work best.

There are several basic parts that make up the transmitter:

Power supply - The power supply (or power supply unit) is a device or system used to supply electrical energy to the transmitter.

Oscillator - It produces the repetitive signal, and is an electronic circuit found in the transmitter.

Modulator - This is a device that works by varying the static waveform inside the transmitter. By doing this, messages can be formed from all the produced signals.

Power supply - This is the unit that provides electrical energy to the transmitter.

The Receiver:

This is the other half that completes the tracking device. A remote component, it works by getting the signals sent by the transmitter. This lets the receiver determine where the transmitter is. Receivers also vary to suit the type of transmitter available.
