Why I Love Chain Food Restaurants

By: Patricia Farnham

I have to tell you that I love eating out. I seem to always be on the go for one reason or another. Cooking just feels like a waste of time in most instances as well! I definitely love to eat at chain food restaurants though as I like to know what I will be getting from the experience. I didn't have a good time when I recently ate at an unknown diner while on a shopping trip.

I was shocked when I got a huge platter with more food on it than I normally eat all day. I was also disappointed as the chili was different than what I am used to. Instead of something homemade with green chilies and pork that I get from my local diner, I am sure this particular chili was from a can that they just heated up.

I guess knowing what you are going to get when you place an order is why chain restaurants are so popular. You won't have the same disappointment that I experienced on this trip. It doesn't matter if you go to the same location all the time or one in another state - you are going to get the same thing at both places. There is a great deal of comfort for people associated with this.

There are many different reasons why people travel in our world. They may have family they haven't seen in a while, have a job that requires it, or they want to check out new places so they take a vacation. People have to eat and when they are away from home they commonly do so at a restaurant. Most feel they can't go wrong if they stick with a type of restaurant that they already know about.

It isn't uncommon for people to tend to go for what they are familiar with. Having a good experience at a given chain restaurant means people will likely go there again and again. This can be to their local establishment a well as to ones all over the country. People often associate the logos and advertisements of a particular chain restaurant with something that is very satisfying for them.

This is why so many people interested in starting a restaurant take the chain route. They know the key to success is getting people to walk in the door. If they are part of a restaurant chain that has already established itself as offering quality foods, excellent service, and a terrific overall dining experience they don't have to start from scratch to establish these elements.

Yet being part of a chain restaurant can be detrimental at times too. If another business with the same name is struggling due to poor food, sanitation issues, or even the finding of a foreign object in the food it can adversely affect your particular location as well.

In theory, you always know what you will get with a chain restaurant. This can be a safe bet and you can get your favorite items. However, you also miss out on the experience of trying new restaurants. You may soon discover some of them are much better than the chain restaurants you have been visiting for years.
