This we commonly call Windows and what is installed is known as Microsoft Windows which has many versions starting from Microsoft windows 1997 to the latest Windows Vista. dllhost.exe is a part of this Microsoft software which is installed in the local C drive of your computer or laptop. The C drive is the hard drive in your computer where all the operational systems are installed.

The dllhost.exe is one of the most important components of the operating system in Microsoft. It is the core part in your operating system. If this process is stopped it will be a great disaster as it will affect the working of the computer to the extent that it may bring on a total crash in the working process of the computer. It also causes instability in the system by corrupting the data or by damaging the registry. So you should never try to do away with this process. It has to be allowed to run if you desire smooth functioning of your computer.

As all the activities based on DLL in Microsoft windows is managed by these dllhost.exe files. It is marked or flagged as a process in the system so there is no risk of security. This file is registered to Microsoft by database of the process server. So the process server has to be often updated but there is every chance of inaccuracies taking place which may be caused by the virus of the same name.
